Wind gusts are expected to reach 50 mph Wednesday, prompting the National Weather Service to issue wind advisory. Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, and Lake are under the advisory from noon until midnight. It will take effect at 7 a.m. in Erie, Huron, Lorain, and Medina counties and last until 10 p.m.
Forecasters say steady southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected, warning that falling tree limbs could lead to power outages. The Weather Service also warns high-profile vehicles could have issues while driving on area highways. A cold front is the cause of the strong winds and temperatures are expected to fall after topping out around 40 degrees early in the afternoon. There is a chance of snow showers Wednesday night, and by early Thursday morning temperatures will be in the mid-teens.
