Nottingham Forest shared the spoils with Brentford as the sides played out a 1-1 draw at the City Ground.
From the resulting free-kick, Brentford captain Christian Norgaard put his side ahead as he powered in a header from Mathias Jensen's delivery for his first goal of the season. One in first-half stoppage time when the ball clipped Forest midfielder Nicolas Dominguez’s hand as he jumped with arms outstretched, and a second soon after the break for a challenge by goalkeeper Matt Turner on Yoane Wissa. Dominguez was not punished because his hand was deemed to be close enough to his body when he leapt, while Turner’s lunge at Wissa was checked and cleared.
But they rallied and Argentina international Dominguez levelled soon after with a looping header that Bees goalkeeper Mark Flekken appeared to misjudge. Forest were able to see out the remaining 38 minutes with relative comfort to maintain their unbeaten start to the season on home soil. For 52 minutes, prior to Wissa and Turner’s clash, anyone in attendance could have been forgiven for thinking they had arrived for an end-of-season clash with nothing on the line for either team. It took until first-half injury time for either goalkeeper to be forced into a save after a flat start amid a constant downpour.
