Written and directed by Richard Curtis, Love Actually tells 10 separate love stories during the London holiday season, and as the plot progresses many of these stories become intertwined.
But while Love Actually may have sweet moments, the running fat-shaming jokes aimed at the average-sized Natalie throughout the film haven't aged well, with everyone from her colleagues to her family to even Natalie herself taking shots at her weight — "Nobody wants a girlfriend with thighs the size of tree trunks." This unfortunately overshadowed Martine McCutcheon's charming performance, as she stole every scene she was in, even from her more famous co-stars.
Tiffany became one of EastEnders' most iconic characters as her feminine charisma appealed to both men and women. McCutcheon received a 1997 National Television Award for Most Popular Actress and a 1998 TV Quick Award for her performance. However, Tiffany, whose marriage to Grant was crumbling in the show, was unceremoniously killed off when she was hit by a car in a New Year's Eve episode.
McCutcheon Was A Popstar & Had A Number One Single After McCutcheon left EastEnders she found great success as a popstar as her 1999 debut album, You Me & Us, reached number two on the UK charts, and her debut single "Perfect Moment" became the number one song in the country. While the rest of her singles never peaked as high as "Perfect Moment", they always consistently ranked in the top 10 from 1999 to 2001.
McCutcheon Had One Of Midsomer Murders' Silliest Deaths McCutcheon has continued to act in various projects since Love Actually. One of her most famous roles was Debbie Moffett in Midsomer Murders. The British detective drama follows DCI Tom Barnaby and his mission to solve the murders that occur in the titular fictional county.
