Stock-market benchmarks ended solidly higher on Friday to end a multisession slide after a stronger-than-expected jobs report underscored the U.S. economy's health. The S&P 500 SPX, +0.96% was up around 1% to finish near 2,945. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.75% advanced 195 points, or 0.7%, to end around 26,503. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, +1.58% climbed 1.6% to finish around 8,164.
