NASA is looking to develop a space tug to help deorbit the International Space Station in coming years, with the White House budget request allocating $180 million for the spacecraft.
SpaceX has launched four astronauts to the International Space Station for NASA.
That sum includes $180 million; it is initial funding for a space tug that the administration said would"reduce reliance on Russia and help prepare for a new era of U.S.-built commercial space stations."will need to be safely deorbited at the end of its operational life as the United States transitions to lower-cost commercial space stations," it said.
