In a move that reminds us of Tom Hanks naming his volleyball Wilson in the movie ‘Cast Away’, NASA’s ground team has named the rock ‘Dwayne’.The name Dwayne is, of course, a nod to actor and WWE champion Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Hi, little fella. Looks like I've picked up another rock friend that my operations team has named Dwayne.
Alongside the Perseverance message is an image captured by the rover’s hazard-avoidance cameras. It shows the Martian landscape as well as a small rock resting inside one of the rover’s wheels.
