We chat with Naomi Watts about returning to the horror genre in PrimeVideo's GoodnightMommy, and with Nicholas & Cameron Crovetti about how being brothers in real life helped with their roles:
Naomi Watts returns to the horror genre with a remake of Goodnight Mommy, the 2014 Austrian horror movie that shocked horror lovers when it was first released. Nicholas and Cameron Crovetti star as Elias and Lucas, while Watts is simply Mother, who, after some form of cosmetic facial surgery, is forced to wear bandages on her face.
The Cast Talks Goodnight Mommy Screen Rant: Naomi, I love seeing you back in the horror genre. The Ring holds a very special place in my heart. What was it like to go back to that place, but in a very different way? Cameron and Nicholas, you both played brothers before, now you both have your own separate projects. How does your relationship as brothers help when it comes to playing these roles? Especially as something as scary as Goodnight Mommy?
Cameron Crovetti: I guess it just feels more comfortable and more real because we're brothers. So doing some of the more tense scenes just feels easier with someone you've known for your whole life. Naomi, you've got your face covered this whole time, but Goodnight Mommy takes it in a different direction than the original movie.
