The meetings began Monday morning, with the complainants making their case. Jason was the first to take the stand. He criticized Truro police for their response time, alleged lack of criminal investigation and lack of communication. Jason also noted he did not see police knocking on doors, deciding to do so himself in his search for his son.

The service’s legal counsel noted that within the first four days, police were working in conjunction with several outside services to help in the investigation.
