‘Everyone would love to be able to do everything’: Andrew Furey
The A.C. Hunter Public Library in St. John's. -The Telegram file photoST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The provincial government grant for library materials hasn’t increased in more than a decade, while the cost of books increased about 40 per cent in that timeframe. Consequently, the province’s libraries acquired 38 per cent fewer books in 2021-2022 than they did in 2012-2013.
Premier Andrew Furey was the guest speaker at a Rotary Club of St. John's luncheon at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland on Thursday, Jan. 12.
