A 50-year-old New Jersey man died after collapsing while hiking in the Catskills in upstate New York on Saturday, officials said. The man experienced chest discomfort and breathing issues before he collapsed on the Diamond Notch Trail in the Hunter-West Kill Wilderness at about 8:50 a.m., theThose hiking with the man began CPR and found two EMTs, but they were unable to revive him, authorities said.said officials identified the man as Ravi K. Vegiraju, of the Morganville section of Marlboro.

Hunter-West Kill Wilderness is a 19,250 acre area in Catskill Forest Preserve, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation. The area in New York where a 50-year-old New Jersey man collapsed and died while hiking Saturday morning.
