Paterson's Pauldo Twins join new women's basketball league: Overtime Select
Mia Pauldo and Mya Pauldo celebrate during the Overtime Takeover on Friday, May 5, 2023 at OTE Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. A pair of New Jersey high school twins will be trailblazers in a new women’s basketball league set to launch next summer.
“We love Overtime’s platform and what they do for women’s basketball and just sports in general,” Mia Pauldo, who along with her sister competed in an Overtime Takeover event last spring in Atlanta, told NJ Advance Media in a phone interview. “I really think just Puma taking that step really opened up the floodgates. It made other brands say, ‘You know what, they’re not too young,’” DJ Pauldo, a former standout at Paterson Catholic High School and the twins’ father, told NJ Advance Media.
Overtime assembled a group of advisors to guide the league in its mission to serve the next generation stars on and off the court. Advisors includestar Breanna Stewart, UConn’s Paige Bueckers, former LSU and WNBA star Seimone Augustus and well-known agent Lindsay Kagawa Colas. The advisors will also be involved in developing the league’s format and providing mentorship to the players.
