Beckham: What the Must Watch reviewers think
This week, Hayley Campbell and Scott Bryan join 5 Live presenter Nihal Arthanayake to review Beckham.
Scott says: “It is, but there is a caveat. This is a very comprehensive and compelling documentary. It has great storytelling, fast paced editing and a great selection of interviewees; everyone from Roy Keane to Vogue Editor Anna Wintour is included in this. “But it’s not faultless, It doesn’t look into Beckham’s role as an ambassador for Qatar, a country where homosexuality is illegal. Fisher Stevens, the film’s director, told GQ that he had asked Beckham about it but they chose not to include it: “We tried to fit in a million ways and David Beckham wasn’t apologetic about it, he was very open for discussing it, but then when they were putting the film together they couldn’t find a way to put it in.
