Springbok chief Rassie Erasmus was pleasantly surprised when a trio of Scottish kids gifted him a special birthday present.
Head coach Rassie Erasmus was pleasantly surprised at Merchiston School in Edinburgh during the Springboks’ final full training session of the week.
Three boys from Merchiston School, where the training session took place, approached Rassie Erasmus presented him with a gift bag in celebration of his 52nd birthday. For a traditional Saturday game, the Springbok coaching group normally share the team selection internally by Monday, and then generally on a Tuesday they will reveal their selections publicly.
It will be interesting to hear from Rassie Erasmus on Friday why the announcement was delayed, which may well relate to one or two challenging selection decisions, or perhaps some injury concerns.
