All-Star experience whets Dejounte Murray’s appetite for more
CLEVELAND — Dejounte Murray punctuated his high-flying two-hand slam off a spectacular lob feed from LaMelo Ball by loudly slapping the glass before falling back to the court.After the game, he let them know he plans on coming back.
“I was thankful to be here,” Murray said. “I had so much fun with the guys. They all embraced me, especially the ones who have been here before. The NBA is a brotherhood and we are all just trying to represent it the right way.” After missing his first shot, a mid-range jumper, Murray got on a roll with a between-the-legs pass to Rudy Gobert for a 360-dunk, the sinking of a 3-pointer from the corner for his first points and the two-handed slam on the monster alley-oop from Ball. The Charlotte point guard began the play by slipping the ball under one leg as he rose in the air.
“I was just going out there trying to play hard,” he said. “It was my first All-Star Game and you got to earn minutes. I knew it was going to be real tight.” Among the highlights: Exchanging hugs with Spurs legend David Robinson on Saturday night before The Admiral served as one of the judges for the dunk contest.
