Stuckey remains charged with mischief causing damage under $5,000 and uttering threats stemming from events last October that led to her 36-day incarceration in Pine Grove.Article content Her mother, Barb, told reporters at a news conference this week organized by the NDP Opposition that her daughter had been functioning reasonably well before the pandemic hit.
“She went to mental health wanting to see someone there and they told her they couldn’t help her unless she was threatening to harm herself or others,” her mother Barb explained. “So she said: ‘I’m going to kill you.’ ”“Does it make sense? If you’re sitting there screaming for help, and they’re saying, ‘No, we can’t help you unless you list this as the situation’ — well, here’s the situation,” Barb Stuckey told the StarPhoenix’s Thia James.
Getting the right support for people like Jessica presumably remains a high priority for the provincial government, as well.
