Maggie's new dentists were 'horrified at the state of [her] mouth' after she switched practices
A mum who lost eight of her teeth has been awarded £35,000 after a legal dispute with her dental practice. Maggie White, 42, had been treated by Kings Heath Dental Practice for 10 years.
Maggie said: "I have always taken care to look after my teeth. I don’t drink fizzy drinks and have always been conscious to maintain a healthy lifestyle which included dental care. However, it felt like the dental issues were never-ending. I trusted the dentists were doing the right thing as they were in the position of authority, so didn’t question how recurring issues were.”
Maggie went on: "I missed weekends with my children because I was stuck in bed. I had to take days off work [and] I couldn’t go to the gym. This cycle was ongoing for years - every few weeks a new pain would occur and I’d be back to the dentist. Maggie said her new dentists were "horrified at the state of my mouth" and referred her to a specialist. Since then, she has undergone six years of restorative work including the extraction of multiple teeth.
