After reaching the end of her tether, the 35-year-old made her two children sit with their heads down in the middle of the vegetable aisle until they calmed down.

A mum who made her two daughters sit in silence after they 'ran riot' in Tesco has been applauded by other parents. Louise Palai told how her children, Ailsa, six, and Ebony, seven, had been misbehaving during the weekly shop by racing around the store and shouting loudly.

"Even if they were messing around in the street or in the intu centre, I would get them to do the same thing, no matter how many people are around, they would be forced to sit down and think about what they are doing. The children were sat down in the store for about ten minutes before they were allowed to move. Louise stated this is a method she has used at home making them sit on the stairs to calm them down.

"It annoys me when you see youngsters running around and causing a nuisance to people, I want my kids to know the difference between what is and isn't acceptable behaviour when they are in public.
