JW Marriott unveils multimillion-dollar renovation of Galleria-area hotel ahead of 40-year anniversary
Host Hotels & Resorts wrapped up a major upgrade the nearly 40-year hotel, JW Marriott Houston by the Galleria.A major 516-room hotel in the Galleria area is wrapping up a multimillion-dollar renovation as business and group travel continues to bounce back from the pandemic in spite of inflation-related woes.
Owners Host Hotels & Resorts completed a refresh of the public spaces, lobby and an executive lounge in 2019. A revamped restaurant with a Texas-Latin fusion menu, Stray Horse Restaurant, opened in summer 2022. Stray Horse Restaurant opened in summer 2022. Host Hotels & Resorts wrapped up a major upgrade the nearly 40-year hotel, JW Marriott Houston by the Galleria.The upgrades come as the hospitality industry continues to recover the demand it lost during the pandemic, even as fears of a recession loom.
Average daily rates climbed to about $162 per room in the Galleria area – up 5.76 percent from last year, according to STR.
