Hezbollah anunció la muerte de cinco milicianos más mientras se intensifican los enfrentamientos en la frontera entre Líbano e Israel y el primer ministro israelí advirtió al Líbano el domingo que no se dejara arrastrar a una nueva guerra.
El pequeño país mediterráneo es el hogar de Hezbollah, un partido político musulmán chiíta con un brazo armado del mismo nombre. Soldados istaelíes y militantes de la agrupación han intercambiado disparos a través de la frontera desde que comenzó la guerra de Israel con el grupo palestino Hamás, pero hasta ahora los lanzamientos se han dirigido a áreas limitadas.
“Si Hezbollah decide entrar en la guerra, extrañará la Segunda Guerra del Líbano. Cometerá el error de su vida”, dijo el primer ministro israelí, Benjamín Netanyahu, el domingo mientras visitaba a las tropas estacionadas cerca de la frontera con el Líbano. “Lo paralizaremos con una fuerza que ni siquiera puede imaginar, y las consecuencias para él y el Estado libanés serán devastadoras”.
