At the end of his opening statement former special counsel Robert Mueller asked all Americans to understand the seriousness of Russian interference in the 2016 election by pointing out it is one of the biggest attacks on democracy he has seen throughout his entire career.

Mueller clarified that his report does not exonerate him from obstruction of justice.

Louie Gohmert has long feuded with Mueller, going back to when he was the FBI director. This time Gohmert got red faced and pointed at Mueller saying he has “perpetuated injustice” and argued that the president was justified in his anger over the probe because he had been wrongly accused.

Ken Buck questioned the former special counsel if there was sufficient evidence to indicate the president or anyone else with obstruction of justice.
