A study evaluating the work ethic of South African MPs has been challenged for its methodology and accuracy.

A new study on the work ethic of South Africa n Members of Parliament (MPs) has been met with criticism for being misleading. Conducted by SABI Strategy Group and Hlaziya Solutions, the study aimed to identify MPs who are most productive and attend the most meetings. While the study found that members of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) had the worst attendance records, many MPs have disputed the findings, arguing that the study overlooked key factors.

The study also reported that the African National Congress (ANC) and Democratic Alliance (DA) members had the best attendance. The researchers acknowledged that the current system of marking MPs absent for missed meetings, even if they have unavoidable conflicts, can unfairly penalize their performance score. Following the study's release, numerous MPs have questioned its methodology, claiming it does not accurately reflect their work
