Mantha, who's held the northern Ontario riding of Algoma—Manitoulin for the New Democrats since 2011, has been on a leave from his MPP duties, as The Trillium first reported on Thursday. A third party is handling the investigation into the allegations against Mantha and the NDP is keeping certain information private to protect the identity of the individual who made it, Stiles said in a statement on Saturday.Mantha hasn't attended his regular legislative duties this year. The house resumed its sitting on Feb. 21 after rising for winter breaking on Dec. 8, 2022. That was the last day Mantha participated in debate or a vote at the legislature, official records show.
