Mozambique's Renamo boycotts parliament in protest over alleged electoral fraud

The former rebel group added it would not go back to war, despite electoral dishonesty by the ruling party.

Renamo leader Ossufo Momade claimed his party had evidence it triumphed in at least nine municipalities. The country's National Elections Commission was accused of changing results and presenting counterfeit result slips that overturned victories for Renamo in favour of Frelimo in parts of the country.The US Embassy in Mozambique was one of the local and international observers at the polls.
