Mozambican Govt Asks World for Help Fighting Terrorism Mozambique

To help put an end to the insurgency in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique's Defense Minister Cristovao Chume has for the first time requested foreign military troops stationed there to impart their knowledge to the country's security forces.

Chume told reporters in Maputo that his country wants the new military attaches of South Africa, Zimbabwe, Portugal and Ukraine to share their experiences to aid the fight against the insurgency that has raged in oil-rich Cabo Delgado province for years.that forced close to a million people to become internally displaced. Cabo Delgado is a province rich in natural gas reserves and is host to an estimated U.S.$60 billion worth of international investment in gas projects.
