A lot of people wanted to pay their respects
University students gathered at St Peter’s church to mourn the loss of three people who died following an attack in Nottingham on June 13. A vigil took place on Tuesday evening following the incident which left three people dead - two of them students - and three injured.
Yesterday evening a service was held for people to pay their respects and mourn those we have lost. Majority of those who made their way into the church were university students who came to pay tribute to the three who lost their lives.One of the students who was killed has been named as Barnaby Webber, who was known as a talented sportsman, the other has been named as Grace Kumar, a student at University of Nottingham.
Shortly after the service a conference was held outside the force's city centre headquarters at Byron House, Nottingham, where Chief Constable, Kate Meynell, spoke about the tragic incident. In a heartfelt statement following the tragedy, Vice-Chancellor of University of Nottingham Shearer West, said: “All of us at Nottingham are deeply shocked and saddened by the deaths of two of our students following a major incident in Nottingham City Centre.
