A motorist who was caught using his mobile phone while driving has been handed a fine and points on his licence.

Liam Pugh, aged 33, was caught using his phone while behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Vectra on the B5067 Shrewsbury to Baschurch road at Leaton on October 11 last year. Pugh, of Orchid Meadow, Minsterley, pleaded guilty at Worcester Magistrates Court to using a hand-held mobile phone while driving. Magistrates handed Pugh a £153 fine and ordered for his licence to be endorsed with six penalty points.
