The Fir Park favourite made it a double after also picking up the club's prize
Motherwell midfielder Blair Spittal has been crowned Premiership player of the month after a fantastic February. But it comes off the back of some stunning goals and big performances in claret and amber.
Spittal has been in superb form for Stuart Kettlewell's side and scored four goals last month, with a double in the 5-0 demolition job of Ross County, an oustanding opener in the 3-1 defeat to Celtic and a peach of a strike in the 3-1 triumph at Livingston. There were also three assists. All that - coupled with their strong start to March in beating Rangers - has helped the Steelmen climb to eighth in the table.Spittal told the club website: "It’s been a much more positive month for the team.“I’ve been loving my football and think the system has really worked for me. We don’t want to stop here, the manager has been big on that."There’s a lot of football still to be played and we want finish strongly.
Motherwell are idle this week and return to action next Saturday when they host Aberdeen on Premiership duty. All the latest sport news in Lanarkshire Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onX via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
