One male suspect was still at large on Monday as police tried to determine a motive for the attacks that shocked a nation where mass violence is rare. The incidents took place in the James Smith Cree Nation and the village of Weldon, police said. Head’s former partner also spoke to local media and implied the stabbings may have been related to drugs and alcohol. His brother, Damien Sanderson, was also wanted on first-degree murder charges until his body was found Monday at 11:30 a.m. on James Smith Cree Nation. Police declined to say whether Myles Sanderson was involved in Damien’s death but but said it was an “investigative avenue we are following up on.”
