A mother and daughter were unharmed following an early-morning house fire on the city’s Northeast Side.
The fire was called in just after 6 a.m. at a home in the 4100 block of Moana Drive, not far from Interstate 35 and Loop 410.The mother had woken up to the smell of smoke coming from the bathroom. She was able to get her and her daughter out of the house safely, fire officials said.
The fire department arrived fast enough to keep the fire contained to the master bedroom. No injuries were reported.A damage estimate to the home was not given.
