Child assaulted.
A mother has been charged with assaulting her six-year-old daughter.
Belleville Police say a 27-year-old woman was arguing with a 32-year-old man at an east end residence on Wednesday when, during the course of the argument, the woman allegedly struck her daughter. Police were called to investigate the incident on Thursday afternoon and arrested the mother for assault.Names are being withheld to protect the identity of the child.
