A mother nearly lost thousands of pounds at the hands of a scammer who was pretending to be George Ezra.
The ordeal started when Helen posted on the Brit Award winner’s official Facebook page, complimenting the 29-year-old’s talent and ability to connect with listeners.
However, she turned ‘George’ down, saying she was ‘so much older’ with a family, which wasn’t compatible with the singer-songwriter’s life in the ‘spotlight.’The Wylde Moon founder asked if it wasn’t ‘weird’ she hadn’t spoken to ‘George’ on the phone, with Helen saying she once tried to call him but he blocked it, saying he was ‘in the studio all day.’
‘But that included the flight and I told them I was in London so I didn’t need the flights. And they said, “Oh, just £2,500 will do then.”’
