Most emerging Asia ex-China equity markets witnessed foreign outflows in February as strong U.S. economic data stirred worries that the Federal Reserve would keep interest rates higher for longer than anticipated.
"At the end of January, the market's expectation of peak Fed Funds rate was 4.9 per cent. By late February, it jumped to 5.5 per cent." Thai equities suffered $1.28 billion worth of foreign outflows, the biggest monthly net selling by outsiders since April 2020.
