PLACER COUNTY – Crews on Friday caught a break as they continued to battle the Mosquito Fire raging in Placer and El Dorado counties.

As of 9:50 p.m. Friday, the fire covered 29,585 acres and was 0 percent contained, according to Cal Fire. “What did that mean for today?” Scott asked the audience. “No large fire growth.
