Mosiuoa Lekota leads Cope candidate list of 63, promises to 'make dreams reality'

While each party could submit up to 200 names, Cope opted to list 63 candidates for the national list. This decision has raised questions about their campaign direction for the upcoming election on 29 May 2024.

Currently, Cope holds only two seats in Parliament, filled by Lekota himself and the party chairperson Teboho Loate.Debuting in the 2009 elections, Cope secured 30 seats in Parliament, becoming the country’s third-largest party. However, their performance declined significantly by 2019, with only 2 seats remaining.

Cope postponed the launch of its election manifesto, which was scheduled to be held in Hammanskraal in Tshwane on Saturday.
