Former Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane weighs in on Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane's performance, praising his efforts but suggesting he hasn't yet achieved convincing results. Mosimane also offers his insights on Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Former Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane believes that Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane , also known as Nabi, is making an effort to improve the team but hasn't yet been entirely convincing. Zwane took over the reins at Amakhosi in July and has guided them to fifth place in the Betway Premiership. With 14 matches remaining this season, Zwane's realistic goal is to propel the club into the top three.
Mosimane, who was rumored to be a potential candidate for the Chiefs coaching position, acknowledges Zwane's attempts to elevate the team's competitiveness. Speaking to the media this week, Mosimane offered his assessment not only of Chiefs but also of their rivals, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns. \'Kaizer Chiefs, okay, Nabi is trying to do something, he’s getting there,' Mosimane stated. 'He’s not really convincing, I guess he’s trying his best.' Mosimane's own experience coaching in Iran, where he took over an Iranian club in October last year, was short-lived. He faced challenges turning the club's fortunes around and ultimately left after just three months due to unpaid salary issues. \Turning his attention to other teams, Mosimane praised Orlando Pirates' coach, calling him 'fantastic' and 'on a roll,' while acknowledging Mamelodi Sundowns' financial strength, stating, 'The billionaires are good, they can always buy anybody, anything, and they can buy Pep if they want. So they don’t need help.' He expressed pride in the legacy he left behind at Sundowns, emphasizing that he departed without leaving a mess, but instead, 'left trophies.
