Mortal remains of KZN medical student arrives home

The 28-year-old died at the airport in Cebu earlier in July.The KZN government says once Myeni's remains have arrived at OR Tambo International Airport, and it will be kept overnight at a mortuary in Johannesburg.

Spokesperson in the Office of the Premier Gugu Sisilana says Myeni will be transported by road to her home in Utrecht on Thursday. "Preparations are underway for a Special Prayer Ceremony to be held on Thursday morning, 27 July 2023, at a Chapel located near the airport. This will be the first time the Myeni family officially receives Snegugu's mortal remains.

"Thereafter, Snegugu's remains will be prepared for transportation by road to Utrecht. The Special Prayer will be attended by Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube, the Myeni family and close relatives."
