Morrisons has launched its own price match against Aldi and Lidl, joining the battle among supermarkets. The MEN's Parents Editor conducted a comparison of prices to see the impact on her bill.
Another supermarket is joining the price match battle against Aldi and Lidl . Initially, Tesco started the Aldi price match , which was later joined by Sainsbury's. Earlier this year, Asda tried to outdo them by matching both Aldi and Lidl 's prices. Now, Morrisons has also decided to join in and has launched its own price match against the two German supermarkets.
But what does this mean for shoppers? To find out, the MEN's Parents Editor Emma Gill repeated a big shop from last January to see how it affected her bill, as she reports. By doing the same shop, I could compare a random selection of products, rather than just looking at whether specific items were included in the price match. Out of the 42 products I bought last year - some on multibuy offers - 23 have increased in price, eight remained the same, and 11 have decreased.
