Morocco delays the implementation of Euro 6 emission standards for specific vehicle categories, citing the need for further preparation and industry adjustments.

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics in Morocco announced a two-year delay in enforcing Euro 6 emission standards for certain vehicle categories. The postponement affects categories M2, M3, N1, N2, and N3 regarding homologation and registration. Vehicles in category M1 (light private vehicles) remain unaffected.

This decision follows a joint order published in the Official Gazette on December 16, 2024, by the Minister of Transport and Logistics and the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development. Euro 6 sets limits on harmful exhaust emissions from petrol and diesel-powered vehicles, aiming to reduce pollutants like nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), and particulate matter (PM)
