President of the World Obesity Federation Louise Baur said, “It is particularly worrying to see obesity rates rising fastest among children and adolescents.“Governments and policymakers around the world need to do all they can to avoid passing health, social and economic costs on to the younger generation.” The study found that the numbers could double from 2020 to 208 million obese boys and 175 million obese girls in 2035.
“It works in the vast majority of people, the vast majority of time. If two people are of the same height and one has a BMI of 25 and the other a BMI of 40, then excess body fat is the reason.” It is also much more accurate and less humiliating than checking your waist circumference which is another method.
