They have been out and about throughout December as part of another round of surge activity across Preston.
As a result, over 50 people have been arrested. This included 22 people arrested on suspicion of burglary, 10 for robbery, and 12 were brought in and questioned on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.Sgt Scott Archer, from Preston Police, said: “These arrests send a clear message – we will not tolerate criminal activity in our county, and we will relentlessly pursue those suspected of committing a crime.
“This round of activity was all about continuing to make our communities safer and protecting those most vulnerable. “Although surge activity is now over, we would like to stress that this type of work is part and parcel of our daily business, and we are committed to targeting those causing the most issues in our communities.”
