ActionSA recently withdrew from the multiparty coalition that has been governing the capital city since the 2021 local government elections.
JOHANNESBURG - Internal polling data by ActionSA indicates that suburban residents of Tshwane have a more favourable view of the governing coalition compared to those in the township.
Part of the party’s reasons for leaving the coalition is contained in polling results recently presented before ActionSA’s highest decision-making body, the Senate. It explains that the survey was conducted telephonically, with a sample size of 2,302 registered voters in Tshwane. The respondents reflected the racial make-up of the capital city, with over 70% of those polled being black, 18% being white, 4% being coloured, and 2% Indian.
One of the questions asked whether service delivery has improved in Tshwane under the Democratic Alliance -led coalition. Just over 65% of suburban residents polled said it has improved, while only 24% of township residents felt the same.
