As standard, both models ship with a two-year/unlimited km warranty and a maintenance plan of five years or 100 000km.Related: BMW 3 Series Gets Updated in SA – Pricing and Spec As a reminder, both the high-performance premium-midsize sedan and estate employ the Bavarian brand’s familiar 3l, twin-turbocharged inline-six, which has been tuned to produce 390kW, 15kW more than before. Torque output has remained the same, with the full complement of 650N.m available as soon as the rev needle edges the 2 750r/min marker up to 5 730r/min. Power is sent to all four corners via the firm’s eight-speed M Steptronic transmission.
Stopping power is provided by a set of M Compound ventilated brakes - six-piston fixed items up front and single floating items at the rear. Carbon-ceramic items can be had at additional cost. The discs are sited behind front 19- and rear 20-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 275/35- and 285/30-size rubber.
