Two-time All-Star Ja Morant has apologized again for brandishing a gun, saying he made a terrible decision and many mistakes. Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins said he anticipates Morant will play Wednesday against Houston.
Asked if two weeks was enough to clear up his problems, Morant replied it is an “ongoing process.”
During his absence, Memphis went 6-3 and returned to the second spot in the Western Conference just 3 1/2 games behind Denver. That’s the consensus in the Memphis locker room, including Tyus Jones, who replaced Morant at point guard. They don’t see the Grizzlies’ leading scorer needing to do anything to win back the trust of his teammates. Morant ranks ninth in the NBA still averaging 27.1 points per game.
