The garden guru recommends sowing certain seeds that won't flower until next year, but insists the wait is worth it.
With a new month underway, one gardening expert is back with more advice to get outdoor spaces summer ready.
Gardening is a hobby which requires patience, as many plants need time to set their routes before flourishing. As biennials need time to settle in and flower, Monty says "now is the time" to get sowing "for a lovely display next spring and summer". While this sounds like a long time, Monty ensures that the wait is worth it, as biennials are sturdy and will bloom fairly quickly once they are ready.
"When the seedlings are large enough to handle prick them out into pots or plugs and grow them on so the young plants are ready to plant out in early autumn where you want them to flower next May."
