The Montgomery Performing Arts Center's general manager says the key to getting big acts is good relationships.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Bonnie Raitt, Pete Davidson, Gavin DeGraw and REO Speedwagon are some of the acts that will take this stage this year at the Montgomery Performing Arts Center.
“They may have just played Vegas or they just may have played somewhere in Atlanta,” said MPAC General Manager Allen Sanders. Sanders has been the general manager for 17 years. He says the key to getting big acts is good relationships.While the center has a good reputation, it’s a lot of work to get someone on stage.
“We’re trying to get a group to come play here and there’s probably 10 to 15 other venues that are in the mix,” said Sanders.“The comments that I received is this facility here is as fine as any facility that they have ever played at. The acoustics are near perfect. The dressing rooms, they’re set up for an artist in mind,” said Sanders.
