Monroe County is now looking for applicants to manage millions in federal funds for several community outreach organizations weeks after it froze the money
Monroe County Executive Adam Bello announced Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024 that the County temporarily suspended American Rescue Plan Act funds to an organization that oversaw millions in federal dollars meant for community outreach.
The CRC was meant to oversee nearly $7.2 million in American Rescue Plan Act money to pay local organizations for their work as part of the Neighborhood Collaborative Project ."Right now, our auditors have come back and said a majority of that money had been dispersed properly," said Assistant County Exectuive Anthony Plonczynski-Figueroa. "We're now looking at what portion of that may or may not have been mismanaged or not, and so that’s what the audit's going to tell us.
The dounty announced Friday that it is now looking for individuals to consider being the new fiscal agent for these organizations.
