Monkeypox vaccination programme to shut down in Manchester as people advised to book appointments before deadline
Anyone who is eligible to receive the monkeypox vaccination has been advised to book an appointment soon as the programme will soon be coming to an end in Greater Manchester.
Due to a recent increase in the number of cases of the virus in London, the NHS is encouraging anyone at risk who hasn’t started or completed their vaccination to do so. Jane Pilkington, Director of Population Health for NHS Greater Manchester, said: “While we are really pleased with the success of the vaccination programme, with a decrease in cases of monkeypox seen across the UK as a whole – the recent report of an increase in cases in London serves as a reminder that we still need to be careful.
