Former KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development and Tourism, Mike Mabuyakhulu, has testified in the North Sea Jazz Festival corruption case.There were money troubles from the beginning stages regarding the hosting of the Netherlands-owned North Sea Jazz Festival in South Africa.

This was the testimony from the first witness in the corruption, money laundering and fraud case involving the former KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development and Tourism, Mike Mabuyakhulu, and the former head of the same department, Desmond Golding.
