Monday's weather: Severe thunderstorms, hail, localised flooding expected for North West, Free State
has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms and hail for parts of the North West and Free State.A. A Yellow Level 2 warning for disruptive rain leading to localised flooding of susceptible settlements, roads, low-lying areas and bridges is expected along the coast between Port Alfred and Port Edward in the Eastern Cape until and including Tuesday.
B. A Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms with possible strong to damaging winds, and large amounts of small hail is expected over the eastern parts of the Free State, and central and south-eastern parts of the North West.Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the western and southern parts of the North West, in places over the Free State, northern and north-eastern parts of the Northern Cape and the extreme south-western parts of Gauteng.
The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-westerly along the west coast, otherwise moderate to fresh south-easterly to easterly., it will be cloudy and cool to cold with isolated showers and rain but scattered to widespread along the coast and adjacent interior.
The wind along the coast will be moderate north-easterly, becoming fresh to strong easterly in the afternoon.will have morning fog patches over the interior, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the south.The wind along the coast will be light south-easterly in the early morning, otherwise moderate north-easterly, freshening in the afternoon.
