Momentum Multiply is using technology to bridge the 9-year gap between lifespan and health span
between the global lifespan – which encompasses the total years lived, and the health span, defined as the years lived free from disease.
"Our goal with technology is to make these tools accessible to everyone. With widespread smartphone ownership in South Africa, access is key," Eugénio added. Using the Momentum Multiply app, eligible members can undergo a facial scan that assesses health indicators and provides an immediate Healthy Heart Score. Members can also receive a fitness assessment through the same digital process. This efficient method delivers dual results in just 90 seconds, streamlining the path to health and wellness.
Dr Kirti Ranchod noted that technology has significantly improved access to mental health tools and knowledge. However, altering behaviours and perceptions about mental health remains a challenge that technology is helping to address.
